The Luminous Mysteries

Step-by-step instructions for praying the rosary:

  1. Make the Sign of the Cross.
  2. Holding the Crucifix, say the The Apostles' Creed.
  3. On the first bead, say the Our Father.
  4. Say one Hail Mary on each of the next three beads.
  5. Say the Glory Be (Doxology).
  6. The First Luminous Mystery is The Baptism of Christ in the Jordan
  7. In those days, Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. Immediately coming up out of the water, He saw the heavens opening, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him; and a voice came out of the heavens: "You are My beloved Son in You I am well-pleased." (Mark 1, 9-10)

  11. The Second Luminous Mystery is The Wedding Feast at Cana
  12. On the third day, there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there; and both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine." And Jesus said to her "Woman, what does that have to do with us? My hour has not yet come." His mother said to the servants, "Whatever He says to you, do it." ... and He manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him. (John 2, 1-5)

Large crowds followed Him from Galilee and the Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judea, and from beyond the Jordan. (Matthew 4, 23, 25)
